Villa Il Poggiale

In the heart of the Chianti area, just a few kilometers from Florence is the Renaissance "Villa Il Poggiale", classified as a historical home, entirely restored by its owners with the aim of offering the hospitality and atmosphere of a patrician family country house at really affordable prices.
Seated under the Renaissance Loggia, guests can look out over the formal Italian gardens and be enveloped in the fragrance of old roses and flowering shrubs. Ornamental bushes also grow in the beautiful central courtyard and garden surrounding the swimming pool.
The Villa has wonderful light and spacious rooms. The large hall, the heart of the house, with its beautifully painted doors, has comfortable armchairs and welcoming sofas, while various other smaller lounges offer quiet, cozy corners for reading and relaxation.
Each room has its own unique character. The walls are painted in soft pastels made from natural pigments. The fabrics used for curtains and canopies come from small Tuscan artisan workshops. Oriental silks, on the other hand, have been used in the salons and rooms on the ground floor.
All the rooms have:
Private bathroom, Air conditioning, Mini-bar, Telephone, Tea and coffee making facilities, Satellite colour television, Internet, WiFi (2Mbit/s), Safe.
The buffet that we serve can be justly called a "Tuscan Breakfast". Fresh ricotta cheese, jams, honey and prosciutto are supplied by nearby farms. Apple cinnamon cake, fruit tart, brioche bread, chocolate cake and quiches are all home made, some of which from old family recipes.
After a day sightseeing, wouldn’t it be lovely not to leave the hotel for your evening meal? From May 2006 we will have the pleasure to offer our guests the option to dine “at home”. Our menu will be based on the best of Tuscan tradition and the house recipes using local produce in season.
